11-11-10 Iran will not negotiate about its rights:AhmadinejadPresident Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that Iran will not negotiate with any country about its basic rights.Ahmadinejad made the remarks ahead of the upcoming talks between Iran and 5+1 group (five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) in Turkey.“We have repeatedly said that the Iranian nation will not negotiate with anyone about its basic rights,” Ahmadinejad told a gathering of people in the city of Qazvin on Wednesday.“They have said they want to hold talks and we said that we will negotiate… (but) the Iranian nation does not allow anyone to encroach on its rights,” he explained.“We have said that negotiations should be based on justice and respect,and it means that they should stop taking an arrogant attitude (toward Iran) and then we can hold talks on an equal footing about the international issues to settle international issues,” he stated.The president said negotiations will be held only to resolve the issues facing the world and to help establish peace,justice,and security in the world.Iran and the 5+1 group have announced their readiness to hold talks in mid-November.Iran has already said it will not hold talks with the 5+1 group about its nuclear program.It has also said the proposal for nuclear fuel exchange will only be discussed with the Vienna group (the IAEA,the U.S.,France and Russia).“If they honestly enter into negotiations with the Iranian nation,we will welcome them,but if they are attempting to hatch a plot against Iran,the Iranian nation will cut their arms,” Ahmadinejad noted. |
