25-06-11 The Wingless D-Dalus hovercraft

The D-Dalus hovercraft is able to take off and land vertically without the use of rotor blades or fixed wings. The craft, designed by Austrian Innovative Aeronautical Technology (IAT21) uses four contra-rotating turbines that each can alter their angle to vary the thrust 360 degrees around three axes. This allows the vehicle to launch vertically as well as hover and rotate in any direction. The D-Dalus is also practically silent and able to land on a moving vehicle, effectively holding itself down. The current model is designed to work as a drone for search and rescue or disaster monitoring, although eventually larger models could be used for passenger flight.
