01-06-10 Al-Qaeda number three said killed

Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, al-Qaeda’s director of operations in Afghanistan, is reported to be dead.A statement – signed “al-Qaeda General Command” – was posted to jihadist websites today and claims to confirm his death.It says that Yazid was killed along with his wife,three daughters and a granddaughter.A virtual book of condolences has been opened on one site with a promise that revenge for his demise will be swift.
